Adventist Lawyers Kenya

All the office bearers and members whether active or not do understand that the body has an important role to play in the church. Whereas our primary focus may be legal issues we do know that the same is intertwined with vitality of the church spiritually considering that issues of public affairs and religious liberty is a key concern of the church.
  1. A. Role/challenges It is recognized that The core members of ALA are;-
    • a]Adventist lawyers
    • b]Adventist law students
    • c]Adventist paralegals
    • 1. So the challenge is how we can be useful to our members while at the same time also be useful to the church at large in,
      • a} assisting in the implementation of Trust Services
      • b} maintaining a ready forum wherein we interact highlighting and exchange ideas as is the case through the monthly meetings we have.
      • c} enlighting church members on legal matters that may directly impact on them
    • 2} we need to promote payment of registration of members and thus ensure that annual subscription fees are paid.
    • 3.) An ALA account need to be opened and /or made operational
    • 4. We propose that ALA branches be opened in Nakuru, Mombasa and Kisii
    • 5.We need to explore and have a Newsletter thus even if we may not be able to regularly meet we can be able to make available a medium through which ALA fraternity can exchange ideas .Our duty will be to solicit for articles and compile the same.
  2. B. In seeking to accomplish the above, we shall determine the ones that can be implemented right away and also determine the modalities and time frame the same can be done

On the whole the key thing would be that the office bearers need to meet and brainstorm on the same. We could communicate with the other members (through emails) and solicit their views.

Welcome to ALA-K

Greetings from the office of Adventist Lawyers Association.

One of the objectives of ALA is to set up a forum wherein the members can interact and exchange ideas on matters that are of concern to them.

We continue to have monthly Vespers and are grateful to the Union for facilitating the same and allowing us to meet at the LMS every last Friday of the month.

On the other hand it is noted that in our meetings, we are always hard pressed of time and we are not able to fully compare notes and exchange/develop ideas on matters that are of interest to us.

We hope to have a page that has updates on various legal cases that are of special interest to the Seventh Day Adventist.

It is possible that in the future, the site can also provide a forum for those seeking job placement in the legal field.

In essence, it is for us to determine what we want and for now it suffices to say that it would be beneficial if we are all part of this initiative.

We would be pleased to get feedback from you.
